Hi,
I encode SVCDs to play on a 16:9 TV but I would also like to play them on a 4:3 TV. Does anyone know of a DVD player that will play a 720x576 (x)scvd CD in this manner. At the moment the SVCD plays well on a 16:9 TV because the TV does the horizontal stretch. On a 4:3 TV you get tall thin people. If I encode the SVCD for 4:3 the 16:9 TV has a black bar all around and although the TV will stretch both directions to fix the quality suffers considerably.
Please let me know if you know of a player that supports a solution to my problem
Thanks a lot

Had the same problem on my Pioneer DV-440. I just manually switched the players setup to 4:3 letterbox, and it displayed correctly.
