    Just curious if anyone knows how to create a still picture slideshow in a HD format. (either 720P or 1080I)

    How is it to be played? On computer? On 480P DVD to HDTV?
    If your just looking to get wide screen output create a 16:9 DVD. That would be 480P (720x480 NTSC)

    Most recent version editing programs will create high def files (MPeg, wmv, divx, etc.) These can be played on a computer.

    The problem is the lack of a player for a stand alone HDTV or connecting a computer to a HDTV. The latter is an advanced topic and more geeky than you would think.
