I've tried numerous programs and am having problems demuxing a movie recorded from my DVB card. I first used MyTheater to record the MPEG2 stream and when using both ProjectX and PVAStumento I got lots and lots of dropping GOP messages and the end video was not worth watching. Read where a TS stream was better so installed Alt-DVB and recorded the movie in .ts format. Used ProjectX to demux and once again there were lots and lots of dropping GOP messages. When I got done the 2 hour movie file was compressed into a 33MB file and played like it was being fast forwarded.
Am I doing something substantially wrong here?? My DVB signal is over 90% and when I played the recorded MPEG2 file it was really good straight from the original recording. I don't have anything that plays the .ts file so I'm not sure how that original file looks. ANy help out there??
Do I really have to demux at all or can I just find a program to author the .ts recording because the demuxing appears to be where I'm haveing my problems??

please post digitaltv in the digitaltv forum. it helps other to find digitaltv topics easier. moving you.
you can also try DVR-Studio -
Run the TS file through Mpeg2Repair first. That app is really good for fixing the big errors, then demux with ProjectX.

OK someone tell me I'm not an idiot!!
Baldrick--I downloaded the 30 day trial of DVR Studio Pro and installed but everytime I try to start the program the hard drive spins but nothing shows up on the screen. If I do the Ctl-Alt-Del in Win XP it shows up in the runnuing processes, but nothing on the screen. Do I have to start this thing some special way?? All the manuals are only written in German!
Soopafresh--love to be able to use MPEG2Repair, but it tells me there are no video PID's. I think that's all part of the no PMT message in other programs also!!
Maybe I should just find another hobby!! It's getting frustrating!! -
You can run .TS files with MediaPlayerClassic. If you double click on the TS file and it asks you what app to open it with, choose MediaPlayerClassic.
