  1. Hello again!
Trying to deduce why certain avi's wouldn't play audio, I recently ran every video file on my PC through Gspot. I found that if a file had "VirtualDub" listed under "Comments/Metadata" it would play perfectly in Windows Media Player 9. If the file had "Nandub" listed under "Comments/Metadata" however, I would get video (xviD codec) but no audio. Note that all these files, including the Nandub ones, were xviD video/MP3 audio.

I have found that if a file will play on Windows Media Player then it will encode correctly in TMPGEnc. It's very important that the files play correctly in Windows Medai Player. Can anyone help me get the files encoded with Nandub to play correctly on Windows Media Player? I would be most grateful for any advice or insight in this matter.

I have xviD, Fraunhoffer MP3, FFDshow, and all the OEM codecs installed.

    Thanks very much in advance!

  2. Have you tried to play the files in some other player besides WMP. Try Media Player Classic, VLC Player and see what you get.
When I was born I was so shocked that I could'nt speak for 18 months.

I'm seeing exactly the same problem on avis that have had their audio encoded / edited using nandub 1.0rc2 (this is what is shown in Gspot).
Although I have the correct mp3 codecs installed I get no audio in Wndow media player, Zoom player, or Real 10 player.
If I open the file in Virtualdub - under file information it list the audio as Unknown tag 0055.
The tag 0055 is for an mp3 - of which I have the correct codecs.
If I enable mp3 decoding in ffdshow I can get audio in my media players but I cannot separate the audio from video in Virtualdub.
I'd really like to know what nandub is doing to mess up the audio in these files and also if there is a way to fix the files???
