hi,
I connected my component output of dvd player to component input of TV(Y, Pb, Pr). when i enable progressive scan on my dvd player the picture is not stable..it moves up and down.. any idea how to trouble shoot this. If i connect the composite video output(Y) to TV's composite input and enable preogressive scan the picture is fine. someone help me on this.
Thanks in advance,
Prakash.

Is this a progressive TV (EDTV or HDTV)?
If it is, make sure the HDTV is set to 480P or 576P (for PAL)
If set isn't a progressive TV, set the player to 480i (non-progressive mode). You can still use the component cables for a better picture.
The progressive scan mode will not work with composite outputs. -
sorry for being ignorant..its not a HDTV...but television has dvd component inputs(Y, Pr, Pb)

No problem. The Y, Pb,Pr connection will still give a superior interlaced picture.
Progressive is a 60 frame per second sequence known as 480p. Your set takes a 60 field per second interlace input.
