  1. I was tryin to burn VCDs yesterday on my computer and this is what happened.

Ok so lets say thursday I decided to burn some pictures on my CD-r/DVD drive. It works good perfect blah blah. OK! Friday i decide to burn some MP3's and i start up Record Now! and get a message that there are no recordable or rewriteable devices could be found! I was very confused I go to my computer and instead of showing what it usually does

    Local , CD , CD/DVD , Scanner , My Doc

it shows no CD drive , i was lost.

I go into the properites and this is what i got

    Maxtor 2f040l0 - Fine

    HL-DT-ST RW/DVD - Fine

    Samsung Cd-Rom SC-148a -

it says the device has been disabled ( code 22 ) , I try to enable it using windows but it says it cant. PLEASE ! PLEASE! I really need some help..anything?

ok i uninstalled the hardware and reinstalled it but it thinks the CD-r/DVD drive is another CD drive how can i fix that? In device manager it says
RW-DVD , but my computer says CD-ROM instead of CD-RW/DVD.

Try uninstalling it in Device Manager and letting it redetect on next boot, or you can even try uninstalling that entire IDE channel in Device Manager and letting it redetect.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
