Can anybody help?
Tried to burn a dvd last night using dvdshrink. During the burning process it came up with the error message "semaphore signal timeout expired"

I got this same error with DVDDecryptor using some TDK Printables from COSTCO.
I'm using an external I/O Magic 16x burner.
I kept thinking of Homer saying it like "Semamaphoreee" like he did with Lisa's Saxaphone, so I wasn't to upset about the coasters. -
Were you using DVD Decrypter, Nero, or CopyToDVD to burn ?
Internal or external burner ?
If internal, is it set to DMA or PIO ?
Has this happened before ?Read my blog here.

I was using dvddecrypter + nero6 with external plextor 716. Don't know if m/c set to dma or pio. Yes it has happened once when I was burning a dvd on my son's m/c ( same set-up except for lite-on burner ) but i have burned successfully on all other occasions

Check the DVD Decrypter forums as there is a thread dedicated to semaphore signal timeouts. It's pretty much due to the enclosure's chipset design. Some chipsets are more prone to theses errors than other chipsets.
Thanks,
