was kind of dissapointed to find out that when doing a movie segment and having 2 parts of a movie that you cannot add chapters for part 1 or part 2. Are there any work arounds to this or is this just something dvd lab pro cannot handle.
    thnx guys

I'll keep saying this until I'm black in the face. DVD Lab Pro's working model is based on the correct preparation of assets before setting foot in it for authoring. It is not designed for the download crowd who want to string a couple of CDs together. If you want that, use tmpgenc DVD Author, or even DivxtoDVD if you don't need menus.

This is not a DVD Lab Problem, it is a deliberate design choice to meet a target market selected by the author (i.e. Professional DVD authors). Professionals rarely try to add 2 SVCDs together.

Find a way to join them together before you author, or select a more appropriate authoring tool for your needs.

ok maybe some guys who arent ******** can respond to this question.

My assets are not svcd "guns" they are dvd compliant, reason for 2 parts instead of mergin is because merging is causing sound issues (sound being lost around the end of part 1 into merged part of part 2, using tmpg mpeg tools) so ive had to do each part by it selft hence i could do 2 movies in dvd lab putting part 1 in movie 1, and part 2 in movie 2, then in connections drawing connection from end of Movie1 to Movie2 (which then I could have chapters for each Movie Part, however doing it this way adds a delay when transitioning from part 1 to part 2)

Your comment about i.e. Professional DVD authors is kind of stupid guns because if that was the case then dvd lab pro would or should be able to handle alot of stuff you throw at it that is considered professional. Anyways as always thnx to the aholes for their smart replies ill go try Maestro or Vegas im sure those "PROFESSIONAL" authoring programs will have a better solution to my question.

  5. Then we wish you all the luck with Maestro and Vegas.
To reference your original question...what exactly is the problem?
Set chapters for segment one, and set chapters for segment 2.
Make a chapter menu or two.

  7. I just put each segment into their own movie.
Join part 1 to part 2 manually. Chapterize (is that a word?) as normal.

That leaves a pause at the break point, although it wouldn't be any worse than the pause at a layer break on a DL disk.

"they are dvd compliant, reason for 2 parts instead of mergin is because merging is causing sound issues"

Yeah, sounds real professional and not at all like trying to reconstruct a downloaded movie.

Name me one thing that a professional would be working with that DVD Lab Pro can't handle. Any properly prepared, compliant, video or audio asset will work fine. Your source material, with it's strange break in the middle that causes you audio pronlems is the only reason you can't do what you want. Not because of DVD Lab Pro. Get real.

Gun the more you talk the more of an idiot you sound. Get real is right most of these "tools" and most of these programs on this site are for certain things not just to take it and stick it up your azz, now its up to you if you really wanna admit to yourself what they are used for or you can keep living in denial land and keep thinking that everything including the guides on this site is merely educational purposes. Anyways you yourself just admitted that doing it Reboots way will leave a Pause and this is exactly why i was trying to do a Movie Segment way so the break would not be noticeable. I was either looking for a way for DLP to do it or someone who knows another program that could handle what DLP cannot, simple as that. Anyways im done talkin to you peace

Exactly. And DVD Lab Pro is not for joining broken videos together.
