I've had this card for a few months now and just recently got into VCD's (so I'm still a newbie) but in VirtualDub it won't let me pick any resolutions above 320x240.. it says...
Error 418: Unsupported video format.
Now the problem is that according to the instructions on this site I need at least 352x288 for VCD or 480x480 for SVCD (both NTSC)...
Please tell me I'm not screwed?
Thanks in advance.

Use custom format alittle further down the menu, also if you capture with that card you might have to turn Hide on Capture on. I have this card, works pretty good.

WinTV Go can capture at 720x480 if your PC can handle it. Make sure to turn off Overlay when capturing higher than x240. (use Preview mode)
