I took a AVI file and using WinAVI program and guide I sucessfully converted it to a DVD file. Using Nero I burned this file to a disc with the DVD video complilation. The movie plays in the computer (which it did prior to this present conversion), but give me an "disc error" message with my separate DVD player hooked up to my TV. The DVD player plays DVD + or - discs. Did I miss something or is the DVD player the problem? I am sending the image of the file attached. If you need anything else I will comply.

look up your model of dvd player on the left hand side of this page. The brand of DVD you used might not be compatible.

Compatability doesn't seem to be the problem.

try burn with something else, like imgtools classic and dvddecrypter.

  5. I've had similiar issues using Nero (after I upgraded and so then I took the video_ts and audio_ts folders and used TMPGEnc DVD Author and selected the video_ts folder as the source and authored with no menu and even used there native burining tool and it works everytime.

Just like Baldrick said, try using a different app.

And Nero is at it again!

    .....

    .....

Historically, Nero has broken their Video DVD output on every other build. One build it works fine for everyone, the next build 50% of users can't make their Video DVD's play, the next build THOSE users are fine but everyone ELSE can't make their discs play, and then the next build it's all fine again.

    *sigh*
