If you owned a restaurant in Brisbane, QLD, Australia and didn't want to pick up a dead rat, what would you do? Paint over it, of course:

And, it wasn't all inspectors found. I'm guessing this restaurant will have an image problem for some time to come.

Not far from my town, the street workers were painting the new yellow lines on the street. Apparently one street worker was too lazy and painted right over a dead animal of some kind. It was quite hilarious, and a real tribute to the hard workers of that county.

BTW, I have pics if anyone would like to see them.

Sorry for the delay. I had a hard time remembering where I put them.

The rat was just one of a series of finds which also included a giant fungus, other rodents both dead and alive, cockroaches and dinners rescued from bins before being re-served.
I'll try the fungus thanks! Ya gotta remember that Queensland
is pretty tropical and there is a lot of fauna and flora. I worked in
a fancy upmarket resturant once and I have some tales of terror
to tell. Few commercial kitchens are hygenic anyway.

The cleanest I have ever seen was a McDonalds. It was cleaner
by far than anything I have ever seen - even a hospital surgery
    room

When we were kids, my brother and I both got sick after eating take-out food from an A&W Restaurant. My mom called the health department. They paid them a visit and found they'd not cleaned out their grease traps in (ahem) a considerable amount of time. Also, on two different occasions and two different Arby's Restaurants, I got sick eating their onion rings. Never reported them, though. Just stopped going to Arby's.
