Having problems capturing with a Hauppauge WinTV card using Virtualdub. Using the guide on this site (PICVIDEO MJPEG codec), but getting audio/video sync problems. Tried the trick on the guide (set audio and video to be same length under Frame Rate), but still no good. Does anyone have any ideas - I get a couple of dropped frames when the capture starts then none till the end. Using compression setting 18 on the PICVIDEO codec and "CD QUALITY" for audio. I've got the "lock video to audioW selected too.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

try using FREEVCR and tell me if it will sync, I have the WINTV FM and is out of space to try.

'capture/timing/adjust video clock dynamically to match audio clock' is the setting that applies to virtualdub internal mode captures. 'capture/settings/lock video stream to audio' is only for compatibility mode which is to be avoided

Tried the settings recommendation in virtualdub but no luck (it was set anyway) - still got sync problems. No better luck with FreeVCR. However - tried AVI_IO and excellent results - no sync problems at all so willbe sticking with that I think.
Thanks to those who offered advice
