Apple has decided to make our live easier. Basic functions of any IDE-drive have been always supported, but now, with Tiger, there are many new iSupported drives!

List of supported drives (Device support profiles):

    Vendor support profiles:

They are courtesy of xlr8yourmac, so be nice to them (maybe send bottle of champagne for Mayday celebration)

  2. The simple fact that Apple still needs drive strings in Tiger to support burners shows how far behind they still are. They don't even have the most recent drives in the list yet. and the Device support list is old QPS and IOMEGA drives that never worked well anyway.

After using Tiger and trying the burning, I don't give it very high marks.

  3. The Pioneer 109 which has been out since january isn't included in Tiger support. Grumble, grumble...

  4. I had patchburn install my profile for my external firewire enclosure dvd burner. Lite-on 1653S 16X dvd burner. It wasn't on neither list but when I upgraded to Tiger it still works just fine. Wow it's only $45 now on newegg.
