I have no idea what you are talking about, when you just post
a link. I don't like jumping to links when users post them becuase
you never know where the unsuspecting will be taken to. So, I just
leave it alone, until someone else says what it is

(fwiw, ..was nothing personal, mind you)

You know you’ve been just waiting for a home dual-layer DVD burner that also does DVD-R/RW, plays back DVD-RAM, DVD+R/RW, and has an integrated 200GB hard drive for who knows what (actually, it’s for dubbing videos and we presume DVR functions). They even throw in VHS deck for good measure, how good of them! Isn’t it Mother’s day, soon?

Personally, I'm not crazy about the idea of the VHS deck being included with it so I would stay clear of that model myself. The new Pioneers are coming out in Japan soon and they look awesome. See below thread:

I too hope it doesn't take forever for them to reach us.

Yeah. I would wait for a VHS'less version too, as it wouldn't be as
good as a standalone (quality'wise) which is probably (or will) add
    to the price.. just because.

But, the DL disks are just still too expansive for my needs. $39
dollars for a 3 pack is too much. And, they are -L, not LW's.
Course, it would be differnt if the L's were ( -L/+L ) were the
    price of -R/+R 's :P

1 Betamax Hi-Fi and 1 Super Beta Hi-Fi not 12 inches away from me. Both work great. I use them to transfer my old tapes to DVD with my DVD-Recorder...

  11. What's the big deal with dual-layer? If you get a good DVD recorder like the JVC you can use the half D1 FR 180 more and get 3 hours of recording at superb video quality.l Do you honestly truly need more than 3 continuous hours of non-stop recording?
