  1. Hi,
I'm trying to purchase a pinhole lense for my Sony DCRHC40 Camcroder. None of the pinhole lenses I find fit my filter size of 25mm. The particular lense i want to buy fits filter sizes of 27mm,30mm,30.5mm and 37mm

So this maybe be a dumb question, but is there any kind of convert adapter ring I can buy that will allow me to use a 27mm ring on my 25mm cam? I contacted the company that makes this pinhole lense and he told me there is no such thing.... but I just though that seemed odd, theres gotta be something out there to adjust to different sizes (I hope!)

    thanks

  2. Yes, they're called stepping rings. Look on B&H.com, they have many different sizes of rings.

Go on ebay and do a search. I found a 25mm to 37mm adapter ring that did what I needed it to do. There are many different flavors and one should fill your needs.

  6. BTW, is your lens 25mm or 25.5mm? Stepping rings can't be TOO close, there has to be a little bit of difference in size. You might want to look into ring that steps the size up to 30mm, or even larger if you think you might use the pinhole lens on something else with 37mm, for example. Although being a pinhole 'lens' you could put it on most any size lens as it only needs to use the center of the 'lens'...

  7. my specs for my cam say its 25mm....
i was going to use 25mm to 30mm, I found a few sites already that sell them, and say they are compatible with my model

I did a few searches before i posted here, but i guess i wasn't using the right terminology... "stepping rings"
But I think I found what I'm looking for.... Now its just a matter of buying this pinhole lense and hoping it works ok

    thanks for your help
