the best way to handle a divx is to convert it to na avi using vdub and either huffyuv or picvideo codec, then cut out any bad video parts using vdub, one bad video part will through the sound off for the rest of the movie. when the avi is perfect, then use vdub to seperate the audio in eav 44,100 format, then encode with tmpenc using the avi as video and the wav as audio, should come out great.

  4. Nifty,

You like people to icq u, huh? Well, too bad, don't know how to use it. Haha ^u^ Suggestion to you is use TMPGEnc. and the external audio encoder "TooLame" to encode your audio. Then use TMPGEnc. to mux your video and audio together. Should go out great. Good Luck Jordan

PS. Or you could try just muxing the audio from the original avi with your encode video only if the audio setting has no changes.

Your not going to lose anything by converting it to avi using huffyuv. It is a loseless codec, you could try using toolame and doing it direct with tmpenc, but I have never had very much success doing it that way, on most downloaded divx files I can't even get tmpenx to open them, some say they open but no video, and when they do open correctly all it takes is one glitch in the video and your out of sync. the method I described yields a good vcd about 99% of the time, it adds a couple steps but at least you don't have to start over from the begining all the time.
