HI all
I have been using ritek disks for some time now and find that thay are slipping in quality the dye says TT02 and thay are not very good disks at 8x speed i do have some ritek code G4 left but not many which are exellent.
now i have been looking at the MCC 03RG20 from Verbatim & Infiniti from here
http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/dvd-rprint.html but the question is the verbs better than the Infiniti thay both use the same dye as it states but one is £5 cheper why is its the same dye??????
are these dyes better than all the ritek dyes you can get TT02, G4 G5s ????
i hope you can help me on the above question
now just one more question is the MCC 03RG20 dye better or just as good as the Taiyo Yuden TYG02 dye.
I hope you can help thanks all

I would suggest TYG02, if you're certian they're real.
What type of DVD writer do you have?If God had intended us not to masturbate he would've made our arms shorter.

I have a pioneer 107, the thing is how can you tell which dvds to get as many manufactures use diffrent dyes, I live in the uk is there a good dvd source ?????
TYG02 X8 to go for or TYG01 X4 but are MCC dyes still exellent would you say thay are 2nd in quality to TYG dyes as i have seen some verbs with the MCC dye and infinities -
I'm no expert on MCC dyes, nor am I in the UK....
Where's all our cross-ponders?If God had intended us not to masturbate he would've made our arms shorter.

Personally, I prefer the MCC dyes more than the TY dyes.

For the UK, try http://www.svp.co.uk.
Good company, honest product, and they tell you what dye you're buying. Sign up to their buyers club and watch out for their special offers and 99p shipping weekends... -
i have been reading that the ty dues are made in japan and thats the best disks you can get any in japan.
then i read that MMC dye are exellent to but read that any dye made in Taiwan are rubish disks but i have found out the the MMC dye is made in china how can thay be good disks then ????
also i read verbs are not that good but i have seen some verbs with the MMC dye so how can that be ????
can anyone tell me what the best disk to get what make with these dyes and also printable with inkjet
thanks for the help
oh another thing the svp web site advertise the verbs and infinitis with the same dye look here http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/dvd-rprint.html so these diks will be the same as thay use the same dye ??? -
In theory, yes - however some manufacturers supply branders with different grades of media. You may like to think that Verbatim would get all of the A grade stuff and lesser known brands like Infiniti maybe A- or B grade, but this doesn't always hold true.
Generally speaking, the discs should be the same - so in that case it's down to whether or not you're prepared to pay extra for the "brand" and full face printing.
Always keep your eyes open for discs advertised as overprints or B grade media (SVP usually mark these very clearly indeed), as you will not get a product that looks quite as appealing visually or maybe even has surface marks through double handling. This should not affect the writing side, but there have been horror stories of blemishes and other imperfections on the extreme lower end of B grade media. It may be the same dye, but they were knocked out on a Friday afternoon when the QA department had been down the pub at lunch time...
Either of those discs should be fine, though. I've never seem a naff Infinity disc when compared to a "branded" disc of the same manufactured dye. -
hi i have got the info from svp.com thay say there disks are not copies and the SN is
The {DV 3139} Taiyo Yuden (8x) Full-Face Printables DVD-R in Packs of 100 are true media. The SN number is WC521A309902GG.
so if it ends in GG thay are true TYs ????
is there anywhere in the uk that sell fuji or maxwell or any other tys or japan made disks in the uk that might be cheaper but they must be printable cds
what about the verbs with the MCC dye are thay any good are they 2nd place to ty dyes in quality ?????? if not what are the 2nd best dye disks to get from tys
I know TYs are the best now but are MCC dyes 2nd best ??? would you use them if you could not get your hands on tys ???????? i know tys are made in japan but the MMC dyes are made in Taiwan -
You'll be fine with the MCC discs. If you shop at SVP try some of the cheaper brands that use MCC dye. I've used the Ridisc MCC 8x and they have been very good and half the price of the Verb branded discs.
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect. -
They dyes on MCC discs were developed in Japan by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. The actual disc manufacturing is done in either Singapore, Taiwan or India.

oh forgot to ask which is the best mcc dye there are MCC03RG20 and MCC02RG20 dyes what are the diffrence ????? and is one beter than the other
same with the ty dyes there are tyg01 and tyg02
is peopel tend to sayt he tyg02 and MCC03RG20 are the best of there own dyes is this correct and why ????? is there more than one same dye sorry for all the questions but i am not going to get stung by getting more crap disks
lordsmurf why do you perfer mcc dyes to tyg4 dyes then as many sys the tys are better ?? -
The AZO dye in the MCC media reads better in more stubborn players, and I've had a smaller coaster count on MCC in the years (more TY), and my BTC drives hate TY.
MCC00R20 = 2x (not a typo, no "G")
MCC01RG20 = 4x
MCC02RG20 = 8x
MCC03RG20 = 16xWant my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

to lordsmurf just one more post, lol
thanks would a MCC03RG20 = 16x write perfectly at 4x and 8x as i dont have a 16x drive
i ahve a pioneer 107 and thanks for the help it looks like i will be going for the mmc dyes
also what brands do you bye with this type of dye and what dye do you get 4x 8x or 16x
do you think thay are exellent quallity is there any copies of these disks as with the ty disks there seem to be many fakes and not true tys is this the same for mcc dyes ??
thanks -
Not tried MCC03RG20 at anything other than 16x. One would think 8x is fine, but 4x may not be fine. Some high speed media is best attuned to higher speeds.
Verbatim = MCC these days
No MCC fakes exist.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

If you record the same content with the same application on the same writer on every disc and try those discs in every player you have, it shouldn't take long to determine what disc(s) are best for your application.
The trial packs aren't expensive and are a good way to dip your toe in the water if you're prepared to experiment. -
garryheather i can not find any trial packs ??
I dont want to spend loads of money on diffrent media.
what i have found out is using cheap media is best writing at 4x speed instead oo 8x or above but even at 4x speed thay are still not very good disks but you get the best write at 4x on these.
also found out that TY are exellent disks
and MCC disks are exellent but you have to write them at leat 8x times or faster if the disks are able to do that and not to write them at 4x speed.
I ahve read somewhere that faster speed disks dont like to be write at slower speeds like lordsmurf said as it can do just a poor copy as cheap media.
so my pioneer 107 only writes at 8x so the verbs should be ok on my drive as there are not many people can write at 16x i hope i can only try
oh here at http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/dvd-rprint.html there are verbs for £25 for 50 and there are infinities for £20 for 50 thay both use the same dye why would anyone bye verbs then would you think thay are both the same dye WHICH ONE WOULD YOU BYE ???? -
@-jsl-
I have at least 100+ discs from 2001 that are "MCC 00 R20" media as the media code. Not a typo. There is no "G". I saw this a while back and looked a dozens of discs. They're all like that. These are the APPLE-released discs. One of the only choices we had back then.
As of right now, all available information to date, there are no MCC fakes. Could it change? Sure. But right this minute, on the open market, no fakes.
MCC and TY are visibly different dyes. That alone will show they are not the same thing. Do not even have to get into the technicals and business side of it.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Yes, but the verbs are full face printables, the infinities are not. Why not get the Ritek G05 full face printables listed lower down on the same site. They are half the price & should work ok on your 107. I have burned over 250 on my nec2500 with no problems.

it's just like, you have a 2X cd burner and can't burn 52X cd's....you can, right ? they say that is best to burn at their speed, but that is just a thought.
I still have a 8X and burn any cd, just fine, why is dvd special ??? because people say so. -
Sorry jsl, but this site's media section is not reliable information. I prefer safer, more accurate information. Great for John Q. Consumer, but not for me.

You also have to consider your burner, my Liteon 811s loves TYG02 but the MCC is boarderline.

bidefordboy sorry m8 but i have herd and read many places the the ritek G5 dye are crap I have had loads of diffrent blanks that write perfectly with my writer but the data on the dvds are poor and low in quality and eve somtimes i can not get the data back of the dvds becasue thay are that crap this is what i am trying to aviod i want a dvd with a high quality content so that the data has the lowest error level and high read values.
the G5 dyes are made very cheap now the ritek g4 dyes are much higher quality but yo can not get them hardly now -

Are you suggesting that every person that has added MCC 00RG200 media at this site has entered it wrong and also faked the hex data? And also every other website in the world listing MCC 00RG200 including manufacturers lists of supported media like this, this, this, this, this and this are all wrong too?
Give up, you are wrong as so often... -
Before you get into a snit, I'm going to pull some of them and try some other ID softwares. But DVDINFO v1 shows "MCC 00 R20". We'll see what new ones say.
