  1. Quick question
I have an svcd that i am unable to view on my pc
I have only tried this movie on XP so I dont know if it is a pc problem or an xp problem
Does anyone know of any software that will let me watch an svcd on my pc. I already have divx installed and other movies work fine on my pc, other meaning regular vcd's

    Thanks in advance

    Would Powerdvd software work?

  2. The problem is the required MPEG-2 codec. Because of copyright and licensing restrictions Microsoft's Media Player don't include it. However if you install 3rd party DVD software that has one like Power DVD then Media Player should be able to access the codec, still once you install PowerDVD why would you want to view in in crappy Media Player? So sure, you can play MPEG-2 on XP or Win98 and ME also IF you first install software that comes with the MPEG-2 codec.

    win98 and XP
tried to watch 2 different movies that are in svcd format
    no dice
it just sits there and tries to open at the power dvd screen and that is it
    any ideas?

i know the movies are good because they do play on my dvd players

    thanks in advance
