  2. Go to Tools->Settings->I/O tab and set transfer length to manual/32kb and buffer length to ~75MB.
If that doesn't help reshrink the movie to <4,400MB(4.62GB).

  3. Why not search the board for this film? Use DD on it then shrink then write with DD.

  4. Thanks for the info MovieGeek. I tried your suggestions but am still getting the same error.

Handyguy, thanks for the tip on checking the board first....I had never thought of that. I had already checked before posting and your "solution" of "Use DD on it then shrink then write with DD" is also something that was done and failed well before posting. But thanks for trying.

  5. I/O errors are bad, scratched or dirty discs. I've had the same problem that cleaning fixed one, DVD Scratch Dr fixed one and one that was beyond repair. Check DVD Decrypter's website and you'll find they say the same thing.

Seems like the rip goes well, but it's writing the disc that fails, right? Using new media brand or something?

  8. I'd agree, as described, sounds like it is more of a write issue than a rip issue. The only thing I'd suggest is changing the write speed from MAX to something like 4X to see if it will at least start to write something. I also don't recall you saying whether your previous attempts have resulted in coasters, which would suggest that it is at least writing to the discs.

Is it possible that your drive just hates the type of media you are using and does it show on a compatibility list? I know that I've got some old OptoRite dvd-r's around here that my Pioneer just hates and spits them out almost immediately like bad food.
