  1. I purchased the ilo DVDR04 back in October and had it connected to my digital conversion box so I could receive HBO, Showtime, etc...I also had an A/B switch. Had a VCR cable(not coaxial cable) connecting DVD-TV. 10 year old JVC TV. I have the latest firmware from ilo's site.
Cable is too expensive so I dropped the digital conversion box and upper tier channels. Setup now is cable from wall-DVD-coaxial cable to TV.
Now the picture qualtiy is the pits when the DVD recorder is turned on. Most channels have some problem like waves of ((((((((((((((((((( and )))))))))))))))))) going through the top and bottom picture, be it recording or not. A lot of the channels have "snow" so bad you cannot watch TV, let alone record the show. Trying to fine tune the DVD recorder(-24 - +24) only makes it worse, more snow and the color bleeds. Did not have this problem earlier, just the green tint problem, but extremly clear picture on all channels. Same thing occures if I switch from a coaxial cable to the old VCR cable.
How do I clear this up? Do I have to switch back to a VCR? To late to return it, wish I had known about this earlier.

    Thanks

Connect your basic cable input direct to tv, if signals are still bad complain to the cable co.

They may have installed a faulty filter, you may be getting bad signal due to other nearby connections that are giving feedback interferance.

The cable co can check signal streangth and correct it if necessary, but only if you complain about it. They are a service co and you did pay for installation one way or the other unless you are running a bootleg connection
