  1. I am trying to get the Philips DVP642/17 to play MPEG 4 encoded movies. I am using Nero Recode to create the MPEG 4 files. I have not gotten it to play Nero's Recode MPEG 4 files. It will not load the file using Imation CD-R 700MB/80MIN media. I don't think the problem is the media because I use the same media with DIVX movies and the Philips DVP642/17 plays them just fine. Any ideas on what I may need to do to get it to play Nero MPEG 4 files.

    Thanks

The video encoded by Nero is AVI, so demux with MP4UI and then reencode the audio in the Nero Digital MP4 with Nero to MP3. You can use VirtualDubMod to mux the two streams together. Excellent results on the DVP642.
