Hello all. My first post here so take it easy on me if this topic has already been covered. I just purchased a Magnavox DVD recorder from best buy. I also have HDTV via my cable company, cablevision, IO. I am trying to do the following. Take the out component video from my cable box, and connect it to the input component video from my DVD Recorder. Than using the Component out put from the DVD player to the TV. The only problem is that the image does not display, we can onlly here the audio. Is it possible that this cannot be done? In order to record to DVD, does the DVD recorder have to feed through the coaxial?

Which Magnavox has component video in?
In the meantime, use S-Video not RF.
