    These discs work perfectly in my Panasonic recorder but for some reason, my Sony 500 and 510 burners cannot write to these discs. They are 4x DVD-Rs with the TYG01 media code. Any help or advice would be appreciated

    I may be wrong, but isn't the Sony 510 a DVD+ only writer?

    Nope. It writes on + or -. I have never had this issue before with any other disc. Just the TY discs that I just bought.

    upgrade the firmware, maybe it does not recognize them.
