Ok, I hope this is the right section to ask this in...
I have a question about progressive scan on an HDTV. There are occasions when I am watching a movie on my DVD player in progressive scan and I can see faint lines going across the screen. If I turn off the progressive scan and go back to interlace, it goes away. I am using a Pioneer 220 recorder to watch my DVDs on, but I don't think that is the culprit.
Are the lines appearing because the source is interlace material and the progressive scan is "overscanning" the image? Or could this be a problem with my hardware? I have a 26" widescreen HDTV and the 220 hooked together with component cables. By the way, I mostly notice the lines on animated films like Toy Story and Shark Tale.
Thanks for the help!
