Is there anything out there in print that covers what’s on this forum? Is there a book at the library or anything available?

With the all the knowledge out there with the likes of gshelley61, lordsmurf and others, it's a shame no one has compiled a how to book or if it's possible to do.

Not that I've seen. The publisher killed the last book I co-wrote with some other people, and it covered this topic to a minor degree. They never gave anybody a reason. (Note: O'REILLY PUBLISHERS CAN KISS MY ASS!)

It's always struck me as odd how there are so few resources for video. Which is part of the reason I came online with video info, and why I continue to publish online and post.

Yes. I agree. But, some are just plain dumb. ..given a report or article
to do, and all they really do, is just Google it, and then write their
flawed nonense. I've seen a few these. For a good example, have a look
at all those DV CAM articles. Notice how they are all basically the same.
They're copies of a copy of a copy, of some dumb moran, who didn't know
what too look for, or fully understand, and just used what other people
say. You know the old saying.. Tell one person something, and by the
time it reaches the 10th person, it's a whole other story.
    .
But, this isn't new. This has been discovered a while ago here

  5. I suppose the publishers get scared once they start discussing things regarding this with their lawyers.

That is very likely. I argued with an editor over the proper terms for copying disc (ripping, etc). They (like the ignored newbie morons we sometimes get here) for some asenine reason think DVD media was made to copy commercial discs.

EVEN THOUGH a huge portion of the book was dedicated to creating new content. Go figure.
