    Hi,
I encountered a small problem with ULEAD MS 6.0.I'm capturing footag from VHS, filter them with VirtualDUB (as pieces of 2GB each) and join them together with MS.The audiotracks should be replaced by a filtered version, which is produced indepently of the video. What I'm doing now is to silence all original audio and put the filtered one into another track. I believe there should be an easier way to do this, biut replace audio track works only on one piece of the multiple audio tracks and not on all. Any suggestions?

  2. not sure i understand your question fully, but you can use TMPGENC to de-multimplex (split) the original audio & video, then multiplex the video with your new audio.

the avi is already demultiplexed! I'M using MS for creating SVCD and authoring with MF.I need the original audio just for synchronizing, when the movie is in sync, I'd like to get rid of the original audio.

  4. There are several ways to accomplish this, but probably the easiest is to:

    (1) Load the capture segments on track 1 of the timeline,
    (2) Load the new audio segments into audio track 2,
    (3) Turn the original soundtrack OFF,
    (4) Save the audio for the entire project as a single WAV.

You can then import the new, combined WAV file into audio track 3.

If you're satisfied with the sync and want to clean up after yourself, use FILE | SPLIT on each capture segment to detach the sound from the picture, delete all the unused audio segments, move the new WAV from track 3 to track 1, and remember to turn the audio for track 1 ON again.

yes, split could solve my problem, but doesn't. Whenever I split, I just can't delete the separated Audio track. Also the video disappears. I think, we are on the right track. Any further suggestions?

  6. After the split, pay attention to what the pointer is actually selecting when you click. If both tracks are selected, click in an empty track to change the focus, then click on the audio track you want to delete.

If anything other than that track is selected, the clip isn't split. (Splitting isn't a global operation, it's performed on a per-clip basis. If you have five clips on the timeline, you perform five splits.)

Also, MSPro has a couple of different selection modes. Make sure you're in track selection versus clip selection (upper left corner of the timeline window) and you'll be set.
