How Do I Extract and Copy Short Clips from Existing DVD?

I've read all the guides I can find, but can find no explanation on how to copy, say, a 10 second clip from a (legal, non-copy-protected) DVD. Any suggestions?

Do you want MPEG,AVI or DVD files?
If MPEG or AVI use DVDx,if DVD files use DVDShrink->Re-Author->Start/End.
