I viewed my movies on a newer dvd player and they start off fantastic, but some are a bit choppy towards the end of the movie. It will freeze for 2-5 seconds and then keep playing. Anything I can do to stop this? This only happens on standalone dvd players.

  2. Did you encode the DVD with ffmpeg or mpeg2enc engine?

  4. It may be that your player can't handle the bitrate peaks of ffmpeg. Try to make a test by encoding a clip with mpeg2enc and compare behavior to make sure.

I haven't tried that because of someone else's post about mpeg2enc not writing VIDEO_TS folders. I'll give it a try and let you know.

  6. mpeg2enc writes VIDEO_TS folders in the same way as ffmpeg.
