I read thru the helps and looks like I will have to copy the sounds from MOV to WAV. Is that correct? I am Deaf so I just want to make sure this is the right way (I won't be able to tell the quality of the sounds, just a noise will tell me there's audio). If so, will I just need to use MOV for video and a "copied" WAV for audio and both will run parallel?
I have a 9 min MOV that I want to create a VCD. The video was copied but not the sounds. I used TMPGEnc to do from MOV to MPG and then NERO 5.5 to do from MPG to burn CD.

Is there anything in here (free) that I can use to create WAV from a MOV? All I want to do is create a VCD from MOV, that's it, no editing or anything.
After trying few things with TMPGEnc, the video then is all green and squares, so you know. What do I need to use. I have Pinnacle Studio 9 and it doesn't work with MOV.

QTAlternative may help--then you might get the MOV to open in the newest v of VirtualDub.

I still don't understand your suggestion.
Anyway, I got a WAV file now (from trying buch of trials off the 'net). Then I use TMPGEnc to create MPEG (for VCD), the audio (of the MPEG) is working but now the video is all green and squares. What is wrong? I use MOV for video and WAV for audio. Yes, I put QTReader.vfp in the directory.

QTReader.vfp is known to not work on a number of systems. There are workarounds, but even those don't always do the trick.
You can always download Quicktime (basic) for free, but it won't allow you to save/export the file.
You should try Quicktime Alternative. It should allow you to see QT/MOV files with your standard Directshow (AVI) Movie Player and NLE apps. This would inlcude the latest version of VirtualDub. Then you could export it to an AVI that your system wouldn't balk at (MS DV, DivX, HuffYUV, etc.).
Then you would use that AVI and your current (I'll assume acceptable quality) WAV as sources for TMPGEnc.
Note: with the exception of the most recent version of QT Alt., it has been know to SCREW UP an existing normal Quicktime setup. -
I tried few of the suggestions (this thread and in videohelp.com), still not getting to the point. Let me make it clear what I need to do.
* I have orginal MOV (9 min) on my HDD.
* I need to create a VCD (CD-R 80min) to play that MOV on a DVD player.
Since all I need to do is create a VCD, what steps do I need to do? I already have QuickTime 6.5.2. I don't want to pay for anything else, including the Pro. I just want to MOV to VCD, that's it. Do I have to do MPEG, or what? What?
After doing that (if I ever get it to work, this ithe reason I am posting), then I will decide what I will need to pay for (be it TMPGEnc Plus, QT Pro, or all new editing program like Adobe, etc).
So, please somebody guide me STEP-BY-STEP or post a link where I can follow the steps to do MOV to VCD.

Does Adobe Premiere Elements have the conversion of MOV to MPEG?
Does Adobe Premiere Elements able to burn to CD/DVD directly (without needing of Nero)?
