  1. How can I use Besweet to make a 5.1 ac3 from 6 mono wavs?
Also is Besweet as good as Softencode? Do you have as many options as you do in Softencode?
    Thanks.

Is it as good as Softencode? Probably not, but you won't notice a big difference. It sure is cheaper.

  3. Ok cool.
Now after I make the MUX file, can I do any tweaking to how the resulting ac3 is going to come out? Like in Softencode you can set the normalization level, relative volumes between surround and center channels, compression schemes, etc...

Would you recommend using AC3Machine or the Besweet GUI?
Also is this resulting 6 channel ac3 going to be able to imported into DVD authoring software and used as the audio track?
I have heard some people saying Besweet does not make compliant ac3's.. true?
Finally, last question... is there a maximum file limit that Besweet can handle? If so, is this the total amount between all mono wavs? or per file?
    Thanks alot.

No, Besweet now makes compliant AC3 files.

I haven't tried that app that I pointed you to, so you'll have to tell me

  5. Ok I used Besweet and it worked great to mix all those mono wavs to one 5.1 ac3....
now the only thing is I burned a test DVD and played it on a TV with only stereo sound and when people talk it almost sounds kind of echoey, like more than one audio track is playing on top of another one.
Is this normal? I thought a stereo decoder in a TV or dvd player would only play the L + R channels of the 5.1 ac3.
Or if I want it to sound right on a stereo tv do I have to mix down just a stereo track and have 2 audio streams on the dvd (the 5.1 for theatre systems and the 2 channel for stereo)?

I'm going to play the dvd on a theatre system and see if it seperates it correctly.
Also if anyone has a guide to Ac3Machines different options and what they actually do I would love to read it. I found one on the net but it is very vague and offers no descriptions of most of the functions.

    thanks
