    i have tried to use a few programs to try and record audio off of my dvds can any one recomend one that is easy to use and is free or really cheap

    #1 DVD AUdio Ripper, DVD Audio Extracter. Check out tools section for more details.

    Otherwise - Demux audio to a separate file. Convert AC3 to WAV. Use Audacity to extract section of audio you want. BTW Audacity is free.
