  1. okay, i'm confused...

...i'm trying to put tv shows on a DVDR... so far, i've been putting MPG1 (VCD template in tmpgenc) with 48khz audio on to DVDR... the quality is fine... each episode is about 55min.

...i wondering if i'd be better off converting to MPEG2 (DVD template in tmpgenc), then, use clonedvd or dvdshrink to make it fit on a DVDR...

...which one would produce a better quality image?

  2. I did not tried this, but at 6 hrs...don't matter, you get the same
try to keep the bitrate as high as you can, and lower the resolution, at half.

  3. IMHO if you are happy with the results, then if it isn't broken - don't fix it. You'll most likely be very unhappy if you use a dvd MPEG2 setting and then shrink it to fit the same number of episodes on the DVD.

I'd do a test three ways.

VCD on DVD (What you are doing now.)

DVD encode and shrink to fit same amount of episodes.

DVD 352 by 480 MPEG2 with several passes and a bitrate to fit same amount of episodes.

You don't have to burn, just view in your dvd player s/w on the computer.

    Good Luck
