  1. use winavi to convert and nero to burn. Dvd player plays fine until 15-25 minutes into it. after that it will play in disturbed hunks and never go back to correct from then on. Any one else have same problem.

  2. Good chance it's your media/burn. In your PROFILE, update with your computer specs, including your burner model. Then give us specifics as to the burn speed, burning program used, and media used. Download DVDInfo to get the MEDIA CODE of the media, that will tell you who actually makes the discs.

  3. Hypermedia DVD Drive, Fujifilm DVD+R 8x discs, used Nero To burn. Some of the poorer quality ones have no problem playing, its the xvid or dvd back ups that have problems. THNX

  4. You mean 'Khypermedia' - Khypermedia just rebadges it's drives, if it's an 8x +R drive with no -R burning, it's probably the same drive as mine. If that's the case, it's a Benq 800, which can be converted to a Benq 822 with -R and DL support by changing it's firmware. It's a very good drive with +R media, so-so with -R media.

On the Fuji spindle, does it say 'made in Japan', or Taiwan? Actually just get the media code as I suggested and I won't have to ask.

Also, under DVDInfo, what does it list for the name of the drive? Such as 'ATAPI 8x4x12', 'BTC xxxx', etc. If it's listed as 'ATAPI' it'll be a Benq drive, updating the firmware may resolve your problems.

As I said before, download this program to get this info, it'll be alot easier to help you that way.

  6. The discs are TY, good media. The drive is a CyberDrive, which is probably the source of your problems. Updating the FW, which will also enable -R writing, may resolve your problems.

You can go to this forum and search the forum for 'cyberdrive' for info on FWs to use, what works well and what doesn't, etc.:
