Everytime I capture using Movie Edit Pro, it captures my Video and audio to seperate files. This is not acceptable as I am not able to easily edit both the video and the sound. The only fix for this that I have found is to capture, then use the Export movie function under the File Menu (although I am not 100% confident of this as a work-around). Assuming my work-around works, this means all of my captures require twice the time as should be necessary.

Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing, that will capture as a single file?????? Any help here? Thanks in advance.

are they captured as standard file types, that you could use Virtualdub to mux together? it's not a one-step, but muxing files with Virtualdub is pretty damn fast (even on an old Athlon 950, I get 90fps in output, or 3x real time.

Thanks for the suggestion. The 2 files generated are .avi and .wav. All of the video is contained in the .avi and when I tried to mux in VDUB, I received an error about files NOT being usable with DirectShow Filters. I think that this is the standard error for DV in Virtual Dub.

    Any other thoughts?

Well, I am an idiot. After fooling around somemore with MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 10, I have come to realize that I do not want the files separate. It is part of versitility of this progam. I simply have to group the two tracks together in the timeline mode and apply any kind of edits I want. The edits are then applied to both the audio and the video tracks. Sorry for any confusion and maybe this post will help others climb the learning curve a bit quicker in the future.

As for MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 10, it is an outstanding program. I am continually impressed by the speed in which it manipulates files. My experience with other video editor all-in-one packages (by Ulead and Pinnacle) has always been super slowwwww. But MEP rocks. It edits quickly, applies video effects quickly and the ability to immediately see the FX is just great. If you are interested in this software, checkout my review in the tools section. I have a few gripes, but I think that work-arounds are possible.
