Hi folks,
I use Magix movie edit pro to capture 8mm cam tapes, and lately have begun VHS captures. I use a KWORLD USB 2800D as the capture device. I capture to the Magix native MXV format, which I then normally export as an uncompressed AVI file.
When I check the device options in the capture settings, the MXV format just seems to be a container file, and the actual compression is done by YUY2 (colour space/compression). The thing is you cant pick any other compression codec other than YUY2 when its doing captures.
What do other Magix/non magix users use to capture vid? I would obviously like to capture with as little loss as possible. I know this may mean new software etc.
Cheers.
