  1. I have an avi which has no audio when I play in Windows Media Player. The audio does work in Media Player Classic. When I load the avi in TMPGenc it says invalid audio source. I tried decompressing the audio using avi2vcd and then changing back to ac3 with ffmpeg. By doing this TMPGenc accepted it but the finished DVD had no audio.

Thank you in advance for your help.

When you say "decompress and change the audio back to ac3" do you mean the original file has ac3 audio?

If the file uses ac3, my guess is you do not have an AC3 audio decoder installed. Media Player Classic has a built in AC3 support, that is why you hear audio with MPC.

Install AC3 Filter to add AC3 support.

I just have one question, why are you using WMP when you can use Media Player Classic?

*shivers at the thought of using WMP.

If your avi has AC3 audio then to make a DVD you need only to convert the video. Extract the AC3 audio from the avi and author it with the converted M2V video to make your DVD. Baldrick's guide.
