    Hello,

    Is it possible to make an audio CD with a blank DVD? If yes, which software do I need in order to burn my CDAs onto a DVD and make the disc playable in a DVD player (stand-alone and/or DVD-ROM)?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    it depends on your standalone DVD player: some divx player (f.e. KISS) support all kind of WAVs as ISO DVD (not DVD-Video) - playing like MP3 from a folder. So you only have to rip the tracks from your CDAudio and burn them as a normal data DVD. So folder CD1 inkludes all tracks (WAVs) from your source CD1...
    no transcoding (to 48KHz) is necessary :P
    -> same with DVDRoms for replaying on a PC.

    but
    with normal DVD player this won´t work this way. You have to upsample the tracks to 48 KHz (you might convert thoses WAVs to MP2 (224KBits for stereo sound should be enough) or AC3 (192KHz) to save space) and reauthor them with dummy video tracks
    -> advice use DVDLab (pro) it supports an audio mode which creats the dummy tracks automatically.
    Here in the guide section I once have found a second method to create the dummy video tracks with tmpgenc

    Hi. I'm looking to make an Audio Only DVD, I have DVDLab Pro but don't know how to make the dummie video tracks, is there a guide?

    I would be using 8 AC3 Files (its an audio book I have created)

    1.AC3 = 98.6mb
    2.AC3 = 98.6mb
    3.AC3 = 98.6mb
    4.AC3 = 98.6mb
    5.AC3 = 98.6mb
    6.AC3 = 98.6mb
    7.AC3 = 98mb
    8.AC3 = 86mb

    Is this even possible?

    Thanks in advance.

    Audio DVD Creator is the most powerful app for this, if you don't want to take the long route (there are guides here on the subject).

    TheEverLiving - at the bottom of the Project menu there is a menu item "New Audio Ttitle" (Yes - there is also a typo). If you select this you get a new track craeted that you can click on to edit the still that will be played back with your audio. Just drop the audio on to this track.

    If all you audio is the same format (AC3 2.0, for example) this can be done in a simple, single VTS project.
    Read my blog here.

    ...if you chose the same resolution (4:3 - 16:9) in the dummy track

    Some DVD players playback AC3 files on ISO burned CDR or DVR media.

    If all you care about is to play the audio try burning those AC3's on a DVR and see if your player will show it the GUI menu and allow you to playback those.

    Some machines will properly decode simple *.AC3 files if they are RENAMED *.mp3!

    The mp3 capability evidently passes the decoding on to the appropriate section of the chip.

    I've done a test with

    *.wav
    *.aif
    *.pcm
    *.mp1
    *.mp2
    *.mp3
    *.ac3
    *.dts

    ...and some machines will do them all, some will just the the mpegs, some will do mpegs & wav/pcm. Just depends on the firmware/decoder chips of the machine.

  9. In Dvdlab Pro, click Project, Add Audio Title.
    Load an AC3, make a menu if you want (title screen).
    Add another audio title, load the second, add another, the third, etc.
    Link how you want them on the connections tab (you can remove movie 1).
