After flashing my Khypermedia (rebadged Cyberdrive DX082D) with the 150b firmware, Nero & DVDInfoPro all report it as capable of writing DVD-R & -RW. I bought a couple of Sony -R & -RW's to test & here's what I'm seeing:
- Nero claims to write the -R/RW disk without problems but verify fails (I burned a DVD-Video to test)
- Inserting the -RW disk in my HP laptop DVD-ROM/CDRW drive brings up an empty directory listing - no files are visible.
- Tried the video in my standalone Sampo 612(N) & it came up and played the whole video normally!!
Anyone got any ideas on why this drive doesn't read the -RW's it creates? I've seen discussions elsewhere about the speed of writing with the 150b firmware but nothing about problems reading the disks.
+R/+RW writes & reads fine with this firmware.
Something to note is that the BIOS lists it as "DVD+R DX082D" even after flashing. Is this something that have an effect? I earlier had it installed as the slave on the secondary IDE but switched it to master with the same results. Slave is a Khypermedia/Benq CDRW.
Any suggestions?
