Hi all:
I have an external USB 2.0 DVD multi-format writer (CD+-RW, DVD+-WR, DVD-RAM) device.
I just want to simply backup data to this drive.
Does anyone have some suggestions on what software (free or cost) will allow me to do this?![]()
Thank you
Blake
P.S. I already have DVD Authoring software. I'm just interested in backing up data, not authoring video.

The fact that your burner is in an external box should not affect which burning software you use.
There may or may not be limiting factors as to burn sppeds that are related to the data through put to the device.
Nero infotool does not report my external burner(s) as using dma or pio, just as usb(2) The max I have been able to burn is 4x, but I can't say where the bottleneck is.
