Hi, I just Bought this excelent player, and I noticed that when I watch a Divx movie, that is a 16:9 (or something almost like that), as my tv is 4:3, itīs normal to have black bars on top and bottom of the video. The problem is that these bars are TOO big, in some cases the movie is watched in only 1/3 of the screen. I tried to change on video menu from the 3 choices we have(4:3 PS, 4:3 LB or 16:9), no change at all...
Is there something I could do to enlarge the movie and make the black bars smaller???
Thanks Guy...

Check playback on your PC... could be the DivX movie in question was made with an incorrect aspect ratio. I've run into a few of these, usually someone went overboard with cropping or tried to find the correct aspect ratio visually.
The only fix is to load the movie in question into VirtualDubMod and use the resize filter to visually correct aspect ratio as well as possible. Or (if you're familiar with it) use AVISynth + VirtualDubMod in "fast recompress" mode. -
With Zoom, I could see even less, because the video gets TOO large...

The video is 576x240, the problem is that I still didnīt understand how to make the calculatios for a proper aspect ratio...Could I use Mpegmodifier to change the resolution too, or Will I have to use Vdub mod ??
Thanks... -
There is no way to re-encode the 16:9 movie
to 4:3 format without loosing part of the image
Same with zoom.. if you zoom in the top and bottom bars will get smaller but you loose part of the image on left and right.
That's the only way to keep proper aspect ratio -
I tryed Mpegmodifier to change the aspect ratio and the Display aspect ratio, with no succes..
In vdubmod, is Full processing mode the only way for me to use the Resize filter?? with the other options the Resolutions kept the same. If I use Full process mode Iīll have to reencode the file and It will have less quality then the original, correct??
Watching Divx on my PC, in Bsplayer, pressing A key , cicles between original, 4:3, 16:9 and anamorfic, 16:9 enlarges the video a little bit and is acceptable for me. Is it difficult for the player doing this?? It looks to me that it should have something noticeable when I change on video screen menu between 4:3 LB, PS and 16:9, but nothing heappens...
thanks...
