  1. Hello there! Maybe someone out there can advise me on this...

I've got two separate and unrelated DVD folders authored using ffmpegX. They each contain VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS subdirectories with VOB's and related data inside, and each was authored from an mpeg-2 with an added set of subtitles in .srt format, so each should now function as a burnable DVD image and produce a DVD with selectable subtitles when burned to a DVD-R. One totals 2.08 GB in size, while the second is about 2.36 GB.

Is there a way, preferably using ffmpegX and/or other tools compatible with OS X 10.4, to combine these two into one DVD folder to get a working DVD with both movies on it, with their respective selectable subtitles, without a lengthy re-encoding? (My Mac is beige and pretty slow... .) I gather that I'm _not_ supposed to just rename and combine the VOB's into a single VIDEO_TS folder.

Does anybody have any advice on this? Many TIA!

  2. Apart from the fact that 2.08+2.36 GB will possibly exceed the size of a standard DVDR, you could use Sizzle on the various VOB files, but then you will lose the subtitles.

I use DVD2OneX to combine the TS Folders I authored with ffmpegX by using the "join" mode. You can even join TS with different attribute, like one having subtitles the other one not having subs but an additional audio etc.

This app is mainly for "shrinking" DVD-9 to DVD-R and will cost you $50. I found it worth the price and never had any problems with it.

  4. Ok, there are various ways to join multiple DVD's VIDEO_TS folders into one long movie. Is there however a way to make a menu screen along with that so that you can select which movie to play?
