    Hi all.

I want to put my BenQ1620 into a USB external enclosure, and I'm wondering: does anyone know where I can get an inexpensive one? (~$30 or less)

Bigfoot Computers have them for $90, but there's no way I'm paying more for the enclosure than I did for the burenr.

    Thanks,

    Ma Jie

ebay my friend they go for 30 bucks or less 100's of times a day. Search for 5.25 external enclosure and you should have eveyrthing you need.
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question!

    Try Canada Computers http://wwwcanadacomputers.com.
$30 is a bit low but $40 will get a USB 2.0 or firewire 5.25" external enclosure.
    Also try Tiger Direct http://www.tigerdirect.ca

    Cheers.

get a firewire/usb combo enclosure. there are more compatibilty problems with usb when using a dvd burner in a enclosure. i would suggest you read the BENQ FORUMS at cdfreaks.com because there was a thread on the BENQ 1620 not working with some enclosures. i am not sure which chipset did work with the 1620. firewire is the way to go!
