  1. I've just got a LiteOn LVW-5006B.

All is good with the recorder itself. However:

    I have:

a normal Sky Box (Scart In and Scart Out)
    A video recoder (Scart Out)
DVD Recorder (Scart In and Scart Out)

So, I piggy backed the scart leads starting with the out of the video recorder into the sky box, then the sky box into the dvd recorder and then the dvd recorder into the tv.

I can record everything through my DVD recorder fine. Normal tv and sky.

BUT: When I want to record on the DVD but watch normal TV (through ariel), I am unable to do so.

If I am recording and then switch over to, say bbc1 through the aerial on the telly (whilst the dvd is recoding), I get a distorted image of the DVD recoder going over the sound of BBC 1 through the aerial.

    Can you suggest why? Help?

    Many THanks.

  2. I'm not quite sure if I follow your config. but I can tell you that the video RF out on many DVD recorders is not the out of the tuner of the recorder but is the out of the same RF that came in, regardless of what the recorder is doing. So, if you want to see what's on the recorder, you'll need to use the composite/component outputs on the recorder. (e.g. none of the recorder output is modulated back to the RF out). not sure about your distortion - sounds like some interference of several sources together on the RF.

  3. Did you connect an RF out from your recorder to an RF in on your TV?

  4. Ok, fixed it.

I have two scarts on the back of the tv.

I kept the same setup and switched everything from Scart1 to Scart2. Fixed now, must have been a faulty scart socket?

  5. In some menu setups you often have to choose which output you want to use.

US guys do not know what SCART means. Causes a lot of confusion around here. I had a similar problem with my Panasonic DMR-E85H (German/European version).

Just wanted to suggest a SCART Switchbox (manual with pushbuttons), but your telly has two SCARTs, you solved the problem.

    Cheers,

  7. Sorry, forgot to say thanks for all the help.

Just have to ask, is ther like macrovision protection on bought videos? I read about a scart which bypasses it but so far all my bought videos have recorded fine? Is it a feature of the LiteOn LVW-5006B?
