  1. This is maybe the second or third movie I have ever come across that I have had any problems with backing up. I use DvD Decrypter and DvD Shrink usually with 0 problems. How I usually do it is shrink into an ISO file with shrink and then burn the ISO with Decrypter. On this movie and maybe a couple other this has not been working. I read a few other posts on these boards and figured it was the ISO file that was messing up Shrink as someone posted in another thread. So I made sure I had the latest DvD Decrypter and ripped the movie with it in file mode. So now I have the movie in a video_ts folder but it is way to big. So now I load up shrink and try to shrink it by opening the file folder video_ts and then hitting the backup button and making sure its on file mode instead of making an ISO. It gets all the way through the deep analysis and as soon as it starts the encoding stage it I get an error the same as before when I was trying to use Shrink from the begining. It says "DvD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Programming error - exception occured" am I doing something wrong ? Any help would be most appriciated. Thanks

oh also after this error I get a microsoft error saying that shrink has crashed so it seems to bomb the whole program out. This only occures though on this movie and a couple others. Its not the disc though since a friend of mine has tried the same movie (different from mine) and gets the same problem.

Check disc content (beside main movie). View each and every movie and eliminate especially short pieces that Shrink has trouble playing (may show as black screen). Shrink and Nero Recode often fall in that same trap, short specialy designed clips that cause them rendering the same piece over and over again (infinite loop). Both will crash immediately after. CloneDVD and DVD2One are smarter in that department.

If you watch the screen carefully while shrinking takes place you will see which clip causes that. Both Shrink and Nero Recode come from the same developer...

  3. I'm sorry I don't follow what your saying or not sure how to do it. I am kinda new at this still. Do I have to re author to do this ? I don't want to loose menu functionality if at all possible.

  6. Hi,

I've got Bourne Supremacy and am trying to back it up. I use DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink 3.2 successfully except on this movie.

For some reason the sub titles for the russian speaking part of the film do not get backed up. I manged once to get subtitles for the whole film in English which I didn't want. The ones which show the locations i.e. Goa, CIA headquarters etc do.

I suspect this is something simple but is beyond me. Any ideas?
