    I really know nothing about sound cards. I'm looking for one as cheap as possible that will be able to DVD's and DVD Rips fine. I really need one ASAP too. What do you guys recommend?

    Go to any computer shop and Pick up a cheap 20$ 30$ Sound Blaster.

    yeah that one is fine , not the best but will do what you want, I have 3 of those.
