  1. I seem to have a small problem. I've burned a couple of dvd's and the menu music in all of them them skips and jumps on my standalone player. However, this does not happen if I play the dvd on my pc using Power DVD. I have been using an mp3 file from my HD for the menu music and have chosen the "custom" - "encode to mped audio" in the menu settings. Do you think changing the option to "encode to ac3 audio" would remedy the problem? I am certain the mp3 is fine as it plays fine on the dvd with Power DVD. I ask this question because in the menu options it says to choose mpeg audio or ac3 audio depending on your player. Could it be that my player does not play mpeg audio correctly? Oh, and by the way, I am using rc2 registered version.

Certainly try "Custom: Encode to AC3" and let us know if this works better.

  3. AC3 doesn't work for me either. That blows. I was hoping to be able to add music to the menu.

  4. OK, so I tried the same scenario with the same music file (except I had to encode to .mp2 @ 48khz) with DVD Lab and the menu music works fine. I've tried the same .mp2 file in svcd2dvd but it still skips in my dvd player. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem?

ok. Can you upload the following:

    menu jpg
    menu mp3 (original)
    menu mp2 (48Khz)
    dvdlab menu vob & ifo

    to ftp://BetaTester:badger@ftp.svcd2dvdmpg.com:7676/Predat0r%20-%20menuskipping

    and i will investigate.

  6. OK, done. This vob and ifo were from a tester that I did of a very small mpg file so it would be quick to test the menu skipping.

ok. Thanks, got those. I will do some analysis (in the morning) and will probably need you to do a few tests... Is that ok?

Can you have a look at the two DVDs in ftp://BetaTester:badger@ftp.svcd2dvdmpg.com:7676/Predat0r%20-%20menuskipping/Tests

Try burning those (RW media) and see if there is a difference.

  10. Unfortunately, both still skip in my dvd player. I don't know if it makes a difference to you what dvd player I have, but it's a Norcent DP311.

The solution is a different encoding method for the menu. It will be available in RC4. I will email you a intermeadiate version.
