    Imagine TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE that visit videohelp.com: GUYS and NERDS.
    (Sorry ladies, gonna ignore you for now.)

    Now imagine ALL THE VIDEO-RELATED TOPICS (not OT) here at videohelp where you leave comments. Now, INSTEAD OF writing them online, pretend you are TALKING TO A VERY ATTRACTIVE WOMAN.

    For those of you NOT familiar with what a hot woman looks like, see these:
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222916
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=244536
    Plenty of fine examples in there!

    Anyway...

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: I just bought a new DVD recorder. We can get rid of the VCR now. It's really good quality. Better than tapes even.

    Girl: I have an idea for our first new movie. Go get the camera!

    or

    Nerd: I just got a new DVD recorder. It comes with 12-bit DAC and 108Mhz. I'm going to run some tests and verify it against the 10-bit ones to compare.

    Girl: That's great. I'm going out with the girls. See you around.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: I just burned us another movie. I checked the disc real quick, looks good, not skipping this time.

    Girl: I'll get the popcorn and blanket. You clean the couch.

    or

    Nerd: I just burned us another movie. I need to run some PI/PO tests and then compare it online. It'll be about 15-30 minutes before I'm done. Then we can watch it.

    Girl: I'm going shopping. Maybe some other time.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: I just got the new MP3 for the XYZ band! Here, put it in the stereo.

    Girl: How about a game of "strip to the music" ?

    or

    Nerd: They just released the new MP3 of XYZ online, but MP3 just doesn't sound good. I'm going to wait around and use the new OGG/AAC (whatever) format because it gives 10% better compression and allows more of the audio quality to stay. There really isn't any player for it, but we can take turns on my computer or Ipod.

    Girl: Huh? Did you say something? I'm going to go visit my mom. Bye.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: I bought these really cheap PLUS discs, but they don't work in the player. I looked online, read some stuff, people said get the DASH or MINUS ones instead. Or I could try all the other techie stuff.

    Girl: I told you to not be such a cheap ass. Just buy those other ones next time. No problems that way.

    Guy: Yeah, I know. Won't do that again.

    or

    Nerd: Theory has proven that certain specs of PLUS media are superior to the minus media in several ways. Even though I may be able to get better results from the other discs, I have decided instead to grab a drive that is capable of booktyping or bitsetting the media. THis in turn allows the player to think it has a DVD-ROM. Not as simple, no, but I can get just as good a results from PLUS if done correctly.

    Girl: I can't believe I slept with you.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: Somebody at work told me how to copy DVDs today.

    Girl: Cool.

    or

    Nerd: After much research, it has come to my attention that a little effort using the cheaper CD format, and some software, I should be able to copy DVDs and make them almost as good. I can utilize special formats like KVCD and VCD and SVCD to put the movie across one or more of the same disc. I will then not be required to buy the expensive DVD media and DVD drives. The outcome is almost as good, if not the same.

    Girl: Does this mean I have to pay for our date again, Mr. Big Spender?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Guy: Our DVDs from Netflix came in the mail. I got 3 of them. Which one did you want to watch tonight? A, B, or C?

    Girl: C sounds like a good one. It'll get me in the mood for later! <giggle>

    or

    Nerd: I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS SHIT! I specifically paid for 5 at a time, and they are screwing us again. They have withheld our rentals. We ONLY GOT THREE MOVIES for tonight. Would you believe that? I've been talking to people online about this for months now. You know, it's a conspiracy. I've got the go online and report this. Unlimited is supposed to mean unlimited. When I'm done, what did you want to watch?

    Girl: Oh... well... I.. um... have to go to see a friend tonight anyway. No movies for me, I guess.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    ........ and that's just a sample, folks. When I have time, I may add more.

Although a simple forum search (ask the big hairy Wookie if you need help in this department) will clearly identify the original posters from whom Smurf drew his prose, they're too stupid to know better anyway, so we all get a good laugh and the jokes on them.

    Especially the Netflix one.

    Never thought about that.... Hey yado, do you wear gloves with your finger in the butt and then remove the gloves afterwards?

    If so, I guess you wouldn't really need to wash your hands then

    I never got into that habit of verifying a burn (error checking) after I burned a DVD. I always just assume since I use decent media that it worked fine. I thought there was something wrong with me that I didn't do this; that I was lazy or something. Good to hear I'm not the only one skipping this step. If you are sitting in front of your computer checking each and every burned DVD for errors, then creating Access databases to chart your results, you have too much ******* time on your hands!

    I use to check my burns...but as far as I am into it, my process is perfect and has never failed, so if I burn a disc that doesn't play...it's bad media.

    I have only burned one coaster in my DVD burning life and it was my own fault for "checking out" burning DVDs with Nero.

    DVD Decrypter in ISO write mode - 1000's of burns, 0 coasters
    Nero - 1 burn, 1 coaster
