  2. It may be terminally dead........Jorg the webmaster has not posted for months and there have been no site updates since June 2004.

Still it acheived its aim...DVD+R/RW in virtually all PC's and an increasing number of Recorders.

Am I right in thinking there is a UK DVD recorder site somewhere - I'm sure I stumbled across it recently ?

  4. Thanks KDH,

Shame if the site is Finished,

I shall sure miss the "witty" posts from the fountain of all knowledge on the Plus forum, the one and only Aybeecea and the Great Loobster!

Plus all things factual of course on DVD Recorders and the like !

    Regards

That site had a good bit of bogus info to wade through, and none of the other DVD recorder sites out there are much better. Limited info, few updates.

I can, however, sympathize with that (maintaining an always-up-to-date site is not easy by any means). Dying sucks though, a real shame.

When DVD+RW came out. Vcdhelp (as it was then called) was very biased towards the -R camp. To the point were I avoided the DVD burner or recorder forums. Fortunately this has changed. I am sorry to hear that DVDplusRW is no longer running (incidentally, has this been confirmed by anyone?).

  14. As announced on home page of DVDplusRW.org homepage as of today

"DVDplusRW.org has been aquired by the RankOne Media Group. The RankOne Media Group expands its portfolio of leading websites in the optical storage industry. Amongst sites published by the RankOne Media Group are CD Freaks.com and Euro-Copyrights.org.

By aquiring DVDPlusRW.org the company will make sure that the valuable information gathered by the previous owner of the website will continue to be available to internet users. The previous owner of the site would have taken the site off-line.

Currently the forum of DVDPlusRW.org is not available due technical issues. It is unsure if it will return. Till then users are invited to join the discussion at the Club CD Freaks Forums."
