Anyone have any information on this player? Saw a bunch this morning at a local Sam's Club for $39.98.

Yes, my local Sams Club dropped the price to $36.88 for this DVD player. In my opinion, I think the Magnavox MSD124 DVD player is probably the most reliable compact-sized, lightweight DVD player out there in the market today. It's also the lightest DVD player out there in the market also. Don't let the plastic exterior shell fool you. A plastic shell DVD player does not mean that it is more unreliable than the metal ones. It's made by Funai, and 2004 year turns out to be Funai's most reliable DVD player year. Sams Club only received back less than 2% that are defective as returns. Many of them got sold, and almost no one has even made a complain that it is changing performance, even if it's almost a year. That's what the sales associates told me. Don't buy an Apex or Cyberhome for the same price. Buy this one instead.
