Since I replaced my LG-4082 with the NEC 3520A, I've noticed that when I play a recording of a TV program in Power DVD on my PC, I see odd bits of text that look like the close caption information. It doesn't happen all the time, but some of the time. I had never seen this before.

Does anyone know why this is happening?

Never seen that. As I gather it, in fact, the JVC ignored CC altogether.

at first I thought it was just my PC acting up or something
but I just now was watching a VR recording of the PBS program SoundStage with Cyndi Lauper and then I saw that it was some kind of close captioning information

the text isn't perfect though because there are random characters sprinkled in

it must be on the recording made by the JVC

    this is really bizzare

  4. Turn off CC's if you don't want to watch it. If you then can see CC's it must be something else.

Ghosts. e.g. Ghosts in the machine.

  6. I've seen that before too. I think it was on Panasonic recorded RAM discs in a Toshiba drive if I remember right, not sure on that one. Annoying whatever it is.
